Day 1
Chandigarh:Drive to Chandigarh from Delhi (320 kms / 6.5 hrs approx). Arrive Chandigarh and check in to your hotel. Proceed for a half-day tour of Chandigarh. Visit the famous Rock Garden. Spread over 12 acres of wooded land, it features urban waste turned into art objects. Also visit the Rose Garden…this beautiful garden features nearly 1,600 varieties of roses. Later, visit the Government Museum & Art Gallery. Overnight in Chandigarh.
Day 2
Amritsar: Drive to Amritsar (235 kms / 5 hrs approx). Arrive Amritsar and check in to your hotel. Proceed for a half-day tour of Amritsar. Visit the Golden Temple… the most exalted of all Sikh shrines, drawing pilgrims from near and far for centuries. The Amrit Sarovar (pool of nectar), or the holy tank that encircles the Darbar Sahib, has given Amritsar its name. Later visit Jalianwala Bagh… a solemn reminder of the 2000 Indians killed and wounded here in the firing by the British in 1919. Jalianwala Bagh commemorates the martyrs. Next, proceed to the Shree Durgiana Mandir, a focal point of faith for the Hindus. The complex popularly known as the Durgiana derives its name from the Goddess Durga. Overnight in Amritsar.
Day 3
Dalhousie: Drive to Dalhousie (191 kms / 4.5 hrs approx). Arrive Dalhousie and check in to your hotel and relax. Overnight in Dalhousie.
Day 4
Dalhousie: Enjoy a day at leisure in Dalhousie. Built on and around five hills, Dalhousie is located on the edge of the Dauladhar range and surrounded by breathtaking snow- capped peaks. Overnight in Dalhousie.
Day 5
Dharamshala : Drive to Dharamshala (113 kms / 3 hrs approx). Arrive Dharamshala and check in to your hotel and relax. Overnight in Dharamshala.
Day 6
Dharamshala: Proceed for a full-day tour of Dharamsala. Set against the magnificent backdrop of the towering Dhauladhar ranges, Dharamshala, lies perched up on the high slopes of the Kangra valley. Dharamshala is better known as Dalai Lamas abode and Tibets Government-in-exile. A visit to the Namgyal Monastery, ensconcing the Center of Tibetan Studies is nothing short of mandatory. Visit McLeodGanj - Little Lhasa is thick with the Tibetan cultural feel. Later, visit the Kangra Art Musem, which has a treasure trove of the art and crafts of region. Overnight in Dharamshala.
Day 7
Shimla: Drive to Shimla (248 kms / 6 hrs approx). Arrive Shimla and check in to your hotel. Proceed for a half-day tour of Shimla. Visit the six-storeyed Vice-Regal Lodge or Rashtrapati Niwas, formerly the residence of Lord Dufferin, the British Viceroy. The style of architecture is English Renaissance, the masonry comprises light blue limestone and the wrought stonework is done in sandstone. Also visit the Christ Church and St. Michaels Cathedral, known for its stained glass window. Overnight in ShimlaDay 8Delhi / Onwards: Drive back to Delhi (366 kms / 7.5 hrs approx).
