Day 1

Arrive Johannesburg/Pretoria/On board the Rovos Rail
Welcome to South Africa as you arrive into Johannesburg this morning. You are met and are transferred to the twin city of Pretoria. On arrival you are escorted to the Capital train station (depending on the day of the week) where you board the ‘Pride of Africa’ for your luxury Rovos Rail Experience. For many visitors to South Africa, theres no finer way to see the country than on the popular weekly journeys between Pretoria and Cape Town. Your trip includes 3 meals per day, all alcoholic and other beverages, sightseeing excursions (subject to operation) accompanied by a qualified tour guide, entrance fees to places of interest, 24-hour room service, bar facilities and a limited laundry service. Overnight on board the Rovos Rail.
 
Day 2

Rovos Rail
This morning you visit the Big Hole and Diamond Museum in Kimberley and enjoy a tram ride there. The train continues from Modder River Station and travels overnight through De Aar and Beaufort West. Overnight on board the Rovos Rail.
 
Day 3

Rovos Rail/Cape Town
After arriving in Matjiesfontein, enjoy a visit to this historic village. Departing later that morning, the train travels via Touws River, De Doorns and Worcester arriving in Cape Town at approximately 1800 hrs where you will be transferred to your hotel. Check in and relax for the rest of the evening. Overnight in Cape Town.
 
Day 4

Cape Town
Wake up to breakfast this morning, following which you are taken on a city tour that includes visits to the Houses of Parliament, the castle, the South African Museum and other historical sights. The cable car ride takes you to the top of Table Mountain for a fantastic view of the city. You are then dropped at the famous Victoria and Alfred Waterfront where you can spend time shopping and then return at your own pace back to the hotel. Overnight in Cape Town.
 
Day 5

Cape Town
This morning post breakfast you are escorted on a full day Peninsula Tour that introduces you to the spectacular Cape Peninsula, also called the Fairest Cape. Take a leisurely walk in the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Travel past Sea Point and Camps Bay, past the famous beaches of Clifton and Llandudno, towards Hout Bay. Drive along the Atlantic Seaboard. Visit the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and Seal Island. Drive along the Indian Ocean coastline, where you can visit the beautiful Boulders Beach, and perhaps sit among the colony of Jackass Penguins. Its then time to return back to your hotel. Overnight in Cape Town.
 
Day 6

Cape Town/Kruger
Wake up to breakfast this morning following which its time for you to head off to the airport to connect your flight to Kruger National Park. The fabulous National Park is home to an impressive number of species. Upon arrival, you are met and are driven into the interiors of the park, to your private game reserve lodge. Post lunch, its time to experience the game drive you have waiting for. Overnight in Kruger.
 
Day 7

Kruger
Wake up at dawn and leave for a game drive into the jungle, prior to sunrise. Return to your lodge for some sumptuous breakfast, enjoy two more game drives during the day and relax the night away. Overnight in Kruger.
 
Day 8

Kruger/Johannesburg
Its time to check out and head to the airport to catch your flight to Johannesburg. Upon arrival you are met and are transferred to your hotel. Overnight in Johannesburg.
 
Day 9

Depart Johannesburg
Your holiday comes to an end today, as you are transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
